Meet Pete Hish

I’m Pete Hish. I work in law enforcement and cybercrime investigations in Los Angeles County, where I see the same pattern over and over: good people running good organizations get blindsided by email scams, stolen logins, vendor issues, and ransomware.

Most owners and managers never planned to become “security people.” You’re focused on customers, payroll, and keeping the lights on. Sentinel Vault exists to make cybersecurity understandable and manageable, so you can protect what you’ve built without turning it into another full-time job.

I also wrote Hacked or Hardened? The New Reality for Businesses for leaders who want straight answers and practical guidance. No buzzwords. No panic. Just what matters, what to fix first, and how to stay ahead.

  • Law-enforcement-informed perspective from real cybercrime cases
  • Clear briefings and practical plans built for small teams
  • Focused on prevention, response readiness, and simple controls that work

What Sentinel Vault Stands For

Defend. Protect. Educate.

Three simple promises, built for busy owners and small teams.

Defend

We identify the most likely ways your organization could be hit and translate the risk into plain business impact: downtime, lost money, customer trust, and liability.

Protect

We focus on the safeguards that make the biggest difference for small teams: stronger logins, safer email, reliable backups, vendor hygiene, and an incident plan you can actually use.

Educate

Everyone gets aligned, not just IT. You’ll understand what matters, what to watch for, and how to make good decisions under pressure when something goes wrong.

Who Sentinel Vault Serves

Sentinel Vault works with small and mid-sized businesses, public agencies, and nonprofits that need clear cyber guidance but don’t have a full-time security leader on staff.

Whether you’re trying to make sense of your current exposure, preparing for a leadership meeting, responding to a scare, or tightening things up after an incident, you’ll get a practical plan and a calm, experienced perspective.

No scare tactics. No buzzword soup. Just clear priorities and steady follow-through.
